Melissa moved to the Austin area in 2005 and fell in love with the people, the music, and the culture. She loves animals and is a doting pet parent to a perfect little chihuahua named Petunia and a lovely tabby named Rose. A native Texan and true water baby, she loves kayaking and exploring the creeks and rivers of central Texas with her trusty sidekick, Petunia. Melissa is in her happy place when she is designing and/or building something.
Melissa was 10 when her parents built their first home, and she was utterly fascinated watching the process. It's a fascination that lasted a lifetime and for the past two decades, her world has revolved around real estate and construction.
She’s managed several very successful real estate firms, and she co-owns a small waterproofing company that installs custom fiberglass shower pans for walk-in showers. After years of remodeling homes...she took on what few young people would and built her first home in east Austin with her own two hands. Then, heeding the call to further her education, Melissa completed her Associate of Science in Engineering in 2023. All this has given Melissa a very unique skill set and in-depth knowledge of contracts, marketing, permitting, inspections and general construction.
